My name is Sarah and I am an Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor, Spiritual Life Coach, and Energy Healer. I offer a range of talking therapies for adults and children; Psychotherapeutic Interventions for young people, and for adults Psycho-Spiritual Counselling, Emotional Freedom Technique; Inner Child Healing, Cord Cutting, Rainbow Ascension Energy Healing and Frequency Healing with a SCENAR device called a Pain Genie. I offer these as individual sessions and as part of a 3 hour Follow Your Rainbow experience and a 1 day Follow Your Rainbow personalised retreat for empowered healing and transformation.
My background is in Psychology, wanting to learn about human behaviour and understand the human psyche from a young age, before recognising I wanted to help and support others with their mental health and well-being with the use of Counselling. Later I realised that “the issues are in the tissues” and that some things need an alternative or additional approach to talking therapies, that some things need to be felt and moved through the body to be released… e-motion = energy in motion. And that when energies are blocked, they create dis-ease, which opened me up to explore energy healing practices. My own experiences with bowel issues from a young age also taught me that “the body keeps the score” when my mental and emotional difficulties manifested in Irritable Bowel Disorder and food intolerances, and I learnt that dealing with these kinds of issues takes a holistic approach to health and well-being.
My experience as a Psychology Teacher helped consolidate my knowledge and understanding of Human Psychology and how it relates to real life, in particular working with young people and their families, witnessing the ways in which family dysfunction and trauma affected their development on many levels. I ran mentoring programmes in schools and taught Counselling Skills as an additional qualification to college students, seeing the value in such initiatives. I later left teaching to retrain as an Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor, knowing that my strengths lay in the relationships and the support I offered the students on a 1-1 basis. Whilst retraining, I worked at a youth centre as a Mentoring Manager, recruiting and training adult volunteers as mentors for young people in the 3rd most deprived ward in the UK, who needed a positive role model and guide in their life. I would match the young people to the mentor most suited to meet their needs and supervise their relationships. It was a very rewarding role, but I was ready to put my new qualifications into practice, so worked for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in the UK as a School Based CAMHS Practitioner, offering 1-1 and group therapy to young people in primary schools and high schools, with emotional and mental health difficulties, in order to promote Healthy Young Minds. I later worked for a charity as a School Therapist in both mainstream settings and in special educational provisions, providing therapeutic interventions for those with complex mental health needs. I also worked for several charities offering counselling to adults, including the Samaritans and I received the Volunteer of the Year award for my volunteering within the NHS. Now including my work in private practice, this gives me close to 20 years’ experience of working with both adults and young people in a variety of settings, supporting their mental and emotional health and well-being. I believe working in mental health involves combining the science of psychology with the art of being human and working creatively to meet the client where they are and hold space for their process.
My history involves a difficult time in childhood, dealing with family dysfunctions and trauma, which led me to struggle with low self-esteem, disordered eating, perfectionism, addictions, anxiety, depression and self-harm. A lot of these issues started as a teenager and I always felt looking back that if I’d had some support in high school it would have been easier to work with, explore, heal and ultimately leave some of these problems behind, rather than carrying them into my adulthood, affecting my relationships, jobs, health, etc. This led me to pursue a career working with young people, as a teacher, mentor, and therapist to help make a change in young people’s lives and help them steer their own ship through life’s turbulent waters. I learned more about the impacts of trauma and about the Inner Child, and found the tools and techniques I had learnt to use with young people, also worked to soothe and heal my own inner child as I continued to heal from my own traumas. My awareness that many other adults had travelled a similar path to me, (just as the young people I worked with had), that we have all experienced years of conditioning and mind control through media, education and family dysfunction, and we’re trying to cope in this reality as best as possible, but often without healthy coping mechanisms or elders to model how to navigate life’s challenges with humility, grace, and ease. I felt called to offer my support to others who had survived childhood, but weren’t thriving in adulthood because of what was still holding them back, mentally, emotionally, and energetically; to help others unfold beyond their traumas into the light that is designed to infuse their bodies, in true connection to their soul.
My journey of healing has been long and expansive, always being interested in personal growth and development even as a teenager, but not seeing that during the week I was working on myself, accessing personal therapy and being my own therapist, performing well at work, making a difference in young people’s lives; whilst at weekends I was sabotaging myself with excessive drinking and partying. I was burning the candle at both ends and this cycle lasted throughout my 20’s: I learnt a lot in this time, both about myself and the nature of reality and the illusionary matrix world we live in, and I eventually realised there were much healthier ways of enjoying myself and far better ways to spend my time, money and energy, finally seeing where my actions weren’t life-serving. I began to wake up as I turned 30, with a career change and a self-identity crisis, as well as the breakdown of my 11 year marriage, and the start of my spiritual journey and my existential exploration of this realm; learning about the quantum nature of our reality and existence, finally understanding that everything is frequency and energy, and that the universe is responding to our vibration, so what we put out, we receive. I started attending meditation courses, events and workshops, developing mindfulness practices, listening to positive affirmations and binaural beats, keeping a gratitude diary, understanding the laws of attraction and manifestation, as I was aware that I had been approaching things on a mental and emotional basis, but not from an energetic approach to healing until this point.
I started having Reiki on a weekly basis as a self-care practice for myself and found great healing and relaxation in this alternative approach to healing, and after a year of regular sessions I decided to train in this healing modality to start healing myself on a new level. I started working with crystals and oracle cards, seeing Angel numbers, and understanding the messages I was receiving from the universe and my team in spirit, and from the synchronicities I was experiencing, and the things I was easily manifesting into my life now that I was on the right track of seeing myself as a spiritual being having a human experience rather than a human being having a spiritual experience. This was also the time I met my (now ex) boyfriend who was a key part of my awakening and as they say “when the student is ready the teacher will appear”, and so we set off on a journey of self-discovery, shadow work and healing, travelling around Europe in a campervan, visiting off grid communities and eco-villages to learn about permaculture, alternative ways of living and being away from mainstream society. By this point I could see all the programming and conditioning, and no longer wanted to be part of the structures that had contributed to mine and many others struggles and sufferings.
I have spent the last 6 years focusing largely on my healing journey, accessing a range of therapeutic approaches to healing including Cranio-Sacral Therapy, Past Life Regression, Super Consciousness Lifestyle Coaching, Family Constellations, cacao and other ceremonies, plant and animal medicines, breathwork sessions, sound healings, bio-resonance, Ayurvedic practices, detoxes, and treatments, Traditional Chinese Medicine, fasting, micro-dosing, attending women’s circles, goddess spirals, and womb healing ceremonies, embarking on a 5-day horse walk with life coaching, as well as other psychotherapeutic and holistic practices for improving well-being and bringing healing and transformation; such as an 8 week Feminine Embodiment healing and training course, where we learnt tools and techniques to assist with our own healing journeys, as well as learning how to use these practices with our clients, as well as other embodiment and de-armouring practices, including TRE (Trauma Release Exercises). My intention being 3-fold: to heal myself, to support others on their own healing journeys, and to eventually write a self-help book to share my experiences with a wide range of healing modalities; physical, mental, emotional, psychological, spiritual, and energetic practices; taking a holistic approach to our well-being.
I am continuously integrating all that I have learned, furthering my studies, and developing my understanding of how to use all of my skills, experience and training to help myself and others, with daily spiritual practices, a range of healing modalities, and a cleaner and simpler approach to living, choosing an off-grid lifestyle. I now offer healings, therapies and treatments from the richness of experiences I have had so far, and I am always open to learning more and constantly seek to adapt and update my practice through new experiences and teachings. My personal strengths are my empathy and positivity, and my passion and enthusiasm for supporting others. I have a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw upon in helping empower others to achieve their full potential by overcoming their emotional difficulties and improving their well-being. My creative and dynamic approach offers clients a person-centred, integrative therapeutic process that is tailored to their individual needs, and uses a combination of evidence-based psychotherapeutic techniques and energetic healing practices, holding space to allow clients to make effective changes in their lives, by approaching challenges in an empowered and holistic way.
